Design

The project was designed by the German group formed by two German consulting firms, KSP Jürgen Engel Architekten and Krebsund Kiefer who won the international architectural competition for this project in January 2008.The mission of the German consultants included the general studies of the project and the follow-up of various stages of completion and control of construction work. The French company Socotec then replaced the German group. Another French engineering company Egis, was responsible for handling the supplementary studies of the project, following up and monitoring the various completion works.

The completion of Al-jaza'ir Great was entrusted to CSCEC, Chinese General Company for

CSCEC ALGERIE Mosque project 中建阿尔及利亚公司

Structural Engineering, Algeria branch. It is founded in 1982 and is one of the biggest subsidiaries of the parent company CSCEC abroad. This global contracting company completed in Algeria more than 245 projects during the year 2016. The company is currently implementing its projects that cover 15 different areas in 36 wilayas. It includes transportation projects, such as airports, railways, metro, ports, and infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, water treatment, desalination and irrigation projects. It has been established in these fields for more than thirty years and has thus proved its competence.

The company is known for its promptness in accomplishing projects and maintaining the quality of achievement. The CGCEC faced several challenges during the completion of Al-jaza'ir Great Mosque because of the different languages and cultures of actors, as well as the nature of the project. The section of Islamic decoration, which is one of the most difficult stages of completion, is one of the challenge. However, these challenges did not discourage the Company's officials and employees from carrying out their tasks fully, the

completion of the operations and thus the achievement of the desired objectives.
